When you’re ready to get work done and all you can think about is anything but the task at hand 😂🥴🤦🏼‍♀️
This is where a “ready to get sh*t done” ritual can be really handy 👇🏻
🌻 do a brain dump - writing down what’s on your mind will help you create the headspace you need to dive into your task
🌻 have a clear goal in mind - what are you trying to accomplish? How will you know you’re done and can move on to something else? It may seem trivial but it is so easy to spend hours on details that don’t matter 😬
🌻 stay hydrated! Get a glass a water or water bottle for your work bout. Hydration is so important for your focus. Keep some water close so you don’t have to break your focus during work.
🌻 set up your workspace - I like to clear clutter and make sure I have everything I need for the task at hand. A clean, organized space also helps me feel less overwhelmed
🌻 set the mood - put some music on, turn on your light, light a candle or turn on your diffuser (aka make your workspace inviting!)
🌻 limit distractions - this is a biiiiig one and probably the most important on this list! Whether that’s using headphones, turning off notifications, closing (or blocking) unnecessary tabs and apps, leave a note saying you can’t be distracted until a specific time
🌻keep a notebook on hand - this is for all the thoughts that aren’t relevant to the task at hand. Instead of putting your work on pause to do something else, write it down and come back to them later
🌻 set a timer and get to it! Depending on the task, I’ll either do 30, 60 or 90 minute work

This is something I struggled with for the longest time 😬
I’d tell myself I wanted to take the weekend off or finish work earlier and yet I’d always find one more thing to do.
Yes there’s a time to do nothing for the sake of doing nothing but I’ve found it easier to give myself something tangible to look forward to
And eventually work my way to boredom.
So if you struggle with overworking
🌻schedule fun things you enjoy (hobbies & activities)
🌻make a list of things you enjoy doing you can do on your down time
🌻slowly learn you don’t have to cross everything off your to do list in order to step away from work 💛
